Role summary
Group Leader position overseeing centralized utilities operations across multiple Abbott Park facilities. Directs senior operators, manages day-to-day plant operations, responds to equipment emergencies, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards for steam, chilled water, and other critical systems serving 50+ buildings.

- Qualified Shift Group Leader certification per LCU Course GESDV-APU-00012
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years boiler or chiller operation experience
- Basic mechanical systems knowledge including pumps, valves, piping
- Troubleshooting and equipment repair capability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
What you'll be doing
- Direct senior utilities operators and oversee day-to-day operations across multiple facilities
- Analyze operational issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain plant stability
- Perform plant walkdowns and ensure safety policy compliance and quality processes
- Monitor distributed control systems and respond to equipment problems and afterhours emergencies
- Coordinate with technicians, operators, and stakeholders on work status and operational updates
Compensation$28.25–$56.55/hour
