Role summary
Amgen seeks a Medical Science Liaison for obesity to serve as the primary scientific resource to healthcare providers and opinion leaders in a North Carolina territory. The role involves field-based peer-to-peer engagement, clinical trial support, and advancement of Amgen's obesity treatment platform.
What they're looking for
- Doctorate degree, or Master's degree with 3+ years medical affairs experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years medical affairs experience
- PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO preferred
- 1+ year medical affairs experience preferred
- 4+ years in medically related field including 1 year clinical practice, research, or post-doctoral training
- Current biotech or pharmaceutical company medical/scientific affairs experience preferred
- Cardiometabolic and/or obesity expertise preferred
What you'll be doing
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions with obesity opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and population health decision makers
- Engage with clinical investigators and research sites supporting obesity pipeline development
- Communicate clinical, scientific, and economic data to institutional decision makers and networks
- Support Amgen-sponsored research initiatives and serve as study lead when applicable
- Present field observations and insights to internal stakeholders to inform strategic direction
