Role summary
This role provides mechanical engineering support to manufacturing operations at a medical device facility, focusing on equipment maintenance, process improvements, and production line design. What they're looking for
- Associate degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or high school diploma with 5+ years manufacturing experience
- 3 years minimum relevant manufacturing experience; 5+ years preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and troubleshooting
- Expertise with cam-driven and servo-driven equipment maintenance and repair
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); AutoCAD and GD&T standards preferred
- Six Sigma, 8D Problem Solving, or Machinist Certification preferred
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
What you'll be doing
- Provide mechanical support to production departments and identify solutions to operational issues
- Develop and implement plans to reduce waste, defects, equipment downtime, and improve capacity
- Design, develop, and manage mechanical improvements and capital equipment projects
- Create detailed mechanical design drawings and verify compliance with specifications and government codes
- Coordinate with equipment vendors, R&D, and plant departments on project assignments
