Role summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to lead engineering change management for complex scientific instrumentation across the product lifecycle. - Demonstrated experience with 3D CAD models, mechanical drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Material
- Background with Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Orders, or configuration/change control
- Ability to interpret engineering redlines and verify documentation implements intended changes
- Strong mechanical design, manufacturing processes, tolerances, and design-for-manufacturability knowledge
What you'll be doing
- Lead Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders for assigned products following established processes
- Evaluate proposed changes for technical feasibility, scope, risk, impact, and cross-functional dependencies
- Review mechanical drawings, CAD models, and technical product documentation to validate approved changes
- Coordinate cross-functional technical reviews and impact analysis across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and service
- Develop and oversee implementation plans while monitoring work-in-process, priorities, and cycle time
