Merck seeks a Manager of General Ledger Accounting to oversee accounting and financial reporting for multiple markets across the JCAP region. 8+ years finance/accounting experience in multinational companies with US and ex-US accounting exposure
4+ years supervisory experience managing teams in accounting or finance roles
Business-level English and Mandarin Chinese fluency (speaking and writing)
SAP ERP system experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Knowledge of SOX controls, US GAAP, IFRS, and shared services environments
Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred; BlackLine or banking tools certification a plus

What you'll be doing

Supervise general ledger activities and period-end close for JCAP region countries
Ensure accurate transaction reflection in entity ledgers and timely period reporting compliance
Manage account reconciliation processes and oversee outsourced BPO general ledger activities
Develop and maintain control environments; coordinate with internal and external auditors
Drive continuous improvement and RPA initiatives; lead ad hoc projects and virtual finance team collaboration
