Role summary
Manager within Vertex's Disease Strategy Finance team responsible for conducting financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario-based valuations to support disease strategy decisions. - B.S. in Finance, Economics, or related quantitative field; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of finance and industry experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector
- Understanding of biopharmaceutical drug research, development, manufacturing, and commercialization
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Hyperion or business intelligence tools a plus
- Exceptional analytical abilities in valuation, ROI/ROIC, and complex business decision evaluation
- Strong written and verbal communication with ability to collaborate across organizational levels
What you'll be doing
- Prepare financial analyses and valuations to inform disease strategy team investment decisions
- Lead preparation of alliance and collaboration financials for revenue and cost sharing arrangements
- Develop and maintain financial models across research, development, manufacturing, and commercialization phases
- Manage disease area P&Ls including variance analysis, risk identification, and mitigation opportunities
- Prepare presentations for cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership on financial topics
