Role summary
Amgen seeks a Maintenance Technician for utilities at its advanced manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting plant utility systems on a rotating night shift (2-2-3 schedule, 7 PM to 7 AM) to support facility operations.
What they're looking for
- High School Diploma or GED plus 1 year utilities or maintenance experience, or Associate's Degree
- 2+ years utility operations and mechanical maintenance experience with chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors
- Knowledge of cGMP or regulated manufacturing environments
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and work with minimal direction
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work constructively with teams
What you'll be doing
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and testing of utility equipment and systems
- Execute maintenance on steam, chilled water, compressed air, cooling tower water, heating systems, and manufacturing/lab utilities
- Complete inspections, equipment overhauls, pump and valve rebuilds, HVAC troubleshooting, and piping modifications
- Document work orders, quality and safety procedures, and maintenance reports in compliance with GMPs and SOPs
- Identify process improvements and opportunities for skill development; provide on-call support outside regular hours
