Role summary
Internship opportunity with Beckman Coulter Diagnostics' Enterprise Data & AI Team in Brea, California. The intern will support data catalog development, contribute to machine learning feature engineering, and assist with AI prompt design across enterprise use cases.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled in bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
- Proficiency with two or more tools: SQL, SAS, R, Python, SPSS, or data mining
- Experience with relational databases and SQL preferred
- Familiarity with vector databases or semantic search concepts a plus
- Experience with data catalog tools such as Collibra or Atlan beneficial
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure tools advantageous
What you'll be doing
- Profile datasets and document business definitions for enterprise data catalog development
- Label and organize data for usability by analytics teams and AI models
- Engineer and validate features to enhance machine learning model performance
- Design and evaluate AI agent prompts, identifying failure cases and response quality issues
Compensation$30 USD / Hour
