Role summary
Johnson & Johnson seeks a software engineering co-op for spring 2027 to support ECMO medical device development. The role involves embedded software design, testing, and implementation for a class II cardiac device, working with a multidisciplinary engineering team in Baltimore, Maryland.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled in third year or higher of bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on 4.0 scale
- Experience with at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Python
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Familiarity with embedded systems, electronics, or data acquisition preferred
- Version control and issue tracking system exposure preferred
- Experience with regulated industries, quality systems, or medical devices valued
What you'll be doing
- Assist in design and implementation of embedded software for class II medical device
- Develop and maintain software requirements documentation
- Design and implement software interfaces for ECMO systems
- Develop test cases and perform unit and integration testing
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities
Compensation$23.50/hr to $52.50/hr
