Role summary
AstraZeneca seeks a Global Clinical Head for Respiratory to serve as the senior medical scientific expert on an asset/product team. This role directs all clinical scientific aspects, regulatory strategy, and clinical development planning while reporting to the Vice President Clinical Respiratory.

- MD or equivalent medical degree with specialty training in respiratory or related area
- 7+ years relevant experience in respiratory space including late-phase drug development
- Deep clinical and research expertise in appropriate disease area
- Significant hands-on late-phase clinical drug development experience
- Experience developing and delivering multiple complex multinational studies
- Global regulatory submission experience and major regulatory agency interaction
- Line management experience with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor physicians/scientists
What you'll be doing
- Oversee all clinical scientific aspects of products/assets including benefit/risk and scientific strategy
- Ensure timely delivery of clinical studies and regulatory submission components
- Serve as primary contact for therapeutic area heads and R&D leaders on clinical and scientific matters
- Provide clinical expertise input into overall project and franchise team strategy
- Lead clinical teams across geographies with demonstrated ability to influence external functions
