Role summary
Merck seeks a Senior Technician for sterile filling operations at the Rahway, NJ FLEx Center on second shift. The role involves hands-on setup, operation, and troubleshooting of complex filling equipment in a GMP-regulated environment, supporting drug product development and clinical manufacturing.
What they're looking for
- High school diploma/GED or associate degree in applied science or related technical field
- Minimum 2 years technician experience in manufacturing, military, automotive, aviation, or industrial settings
- Proficiency with complex equipment, HMI systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with aseptic processing, isolators, and GMP compliance procedures
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in cleanroom environments with protective gowning
- Pharmaceutical/biotech cGMP manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with PLC interfaces, automation systems, and robotic positioning preferred
What you'll be doing
- Perform sterile filling and aseptic processing operations within Grade A isolators per GMP standards
- Set up, changeover, and troubleshoot filling equipment including mechanical and electrical adjustments
- Conduct environmental monitoring including microbial and particulate sampling
- Maintain accurate GMP documentation and records in electronic systems including PAS-X
- Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and safety teams on continuous improvement initiatives
