Role summary

Field Service Engineer supporting pre- and post-sales activities for spatial instrumentation in life sciences. Reports to Senior Field Service Manager and provides remote and on-field technical support across Germany, involving frequent travel and hands-on equipment installation and maintenance.

What they're looking for

At least 3 years field service engineering experience in life sciences, research, diagnostics, or medical devices
Relevant qualifications in microsystems, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, electrical engineering, or microscopy optics
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience; IT support experience preferred
Hands-on laboratory techniques experience preferred
Fluent English (oral and written); additional languages advantageous
Valid driving license; ability to handle heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
Strong customer service skills, problem-solving mindset, and independent work capability

What you'll be doing

Install, maintain, and repair spatial instrumentation systems at customer sites
Investigate technical problems and develop solutions; perform root cause analysis
Conduct basic staining assays for protocol testing and validation
Document all service activities and maintain comprehensive technical records
Gather and report customer feedback and technical issues to management

Compensation€43,700 - €70,020
