Role summary
Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks an Executive Director to lead DMPK-Bioanalysis strategy across biotherapeutics programs spanning protein, antibody, ADC, and cell/genetic therapies. This strategic leadership role oversees teams at Boston and Seattle sites, integrating pharmacokinetic and bioanalytical insights into cross-functional development decisions.

- PhD in Pharmacokinetics, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field
- 15+ years industry experience at management level
- Demonstrated success managing DMPK-BA teams across multiple therapeutic areas
- Deep expertise in biotherapeutic modalities including proteins, antibodies, and gene therapies
- Strong scientific knowledge of PK, ADME, bioanalysis, immunogenicity, and translational PKPD
- Experience preparing regulatory submissions and interacting with health authorities
- Excellent cross-functional communication and team development skills
What you'll be doing
- Develop vision and strategy for Biotherapeutics DMPK-BA teams aligned with Global DMPK and R&D mission
- Execute DMPK-BA scientific strategies from discovery through clinical development including assay design and interpretation
- Communicate findings and recommendations to leadership and R&D governance bodies to advance programs
- Build collaborative partnerships with Biology, Safety, Clinical Pharmacology, CMC, and other R&D disciplines
- Hire, develop, manage, and retain talent while contributing to resource allocation and budgeting across sites
