Periodic Labs seeks an Equipment Engineer to commission, qualify, and maintain vacuum and deposition systems for an AI-accelerated materials discovery laboratory. What you'll be doing

  • Commission, qualify, and maintain thin-film deposition systems including PVD, CVD, and ALD tools
  • Establish equipment specifications, acceptance criteria, and qualification protocols for new tools
  • Integrate in-situ characterization and metrology capabilities into lab infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, vacuum, and process-equipment failures through root-cause analysis
  • Create equipment documentation, SOPs, and technical reports; establish standardized data pipelines
Compensation$200,000–$275,000 base, plus equity, commensurate with experience
