Role summary
AstraZeneca seeks a Director of Supplier Development to strengthen its cell therapy supply chain. - Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years experience with BA/BS, 5 years with MA/MS, or 3 years with PhD
- 5+ combined years in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, and process development in pharma or biotech
- Experience in CMC, process development, and manufacturing
- Proven expertise in supplier development, performance management, quality control, and analytical problem-solving
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, regulations, data analysis, and project management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders
What you'll be doing
- Design and implement risk models to prevent supply disruptions for cell therapy portfolio launch and demand forecasting
- Conduct comprehensive supplier evaluations against quality, delivery, cost, sustainability, and compliance metrics
- Develop customized improvement plans with specific goals, timelines, and action steps for supplier development
- Monitor supplier performance against established metrics and execute corrective actions to maintain performance levels
- Lead and mentor a growing supplier development team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
Compensation$145,000-$218,000 base
