Role summary

AstraZeneca's Safety Sciences China group seeks a Director-level Project Toxicologist to provide non-clinical safety expertise for drug discovery and development programs. PhD and/or DABT in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Pathology, or related discipline
Extensive project toxicology or investigative toxicology experience in pharma, biotech, or CRO settings
Demonstrated ability to deliver toxicology programs supporting IND regulatory filings
Proficiency across small and large molecule modalities and relevant therapeutic areas
Fluent in English and Mandarin with cross-cultural awareness of China, EU, UK, and US environments
Skilled application of in vitro, in silico, and in vivo safety prediction methodologies

What you'll be doing

Lead design of regulatory and investigative toxicology studies to assess and mitigate modality- and target-related safety risks
Serve as core member of drug project teams, providing data-driven toxicology recommendations for discovery and development decisions
Conduct strategic toxicology assessments for in-licensing evaluations and external collaborations
Communicate integrated safety risk assessments to governance bodies and regulatory submissions
Advance expertise in emerging safety science technologies including organ-on-chip, imaging, and omics platforms
