Role summary

Director leading strategic external vendor and partner relationships for the Global Clinical Supply organization within Merck's R&D Division. Responsible for end-to-end packaging service line governance, supplier performance oversight, and driving operational excellence across clinical trial supply chain supporting 300+ clinical trials globally.

What you'll be doing

Define strategic direction for packaging service line priorities and external partner performance alignment with GCS objectives
Lead through matrix organization influence across GCS functions, procurement, finance, quality, and enabling partners on shared decisions
Oversee supplier governance, risk mitigation, capability development, and performance accountability for service-line execution
Drive continuous improvement, process standardization, and scalable operating models across packaging and external operations
Mentor and develop cross-functional teams to strengthen service line capability and organizational decision-making effectiveness
