Role summary
Illumina seeks a Director of Clinical Bioinformatics to lead informatics solutions for genomic sequencing assays and applications. The role requires designing and validating end-to-end assay solutions, developing bioinformatics algorithms, and managing cross-functional teams to advance precision medicine initiatives.

- Bachelor's degree with minimum 18 years related experience; 10+ years management
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary product development from concept to commercial release
- Extensive experience developing bioinformatics algorithms for NGS, microarray, and oncology/genetics/reproductive health domains
- Broad experience with regulated laboratory developed tests, IVD products, or regulated instruments
- 5+ years leading globally distributed teams with management experience
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to execute in fast-paced, uncertain environments
What you'll be doing
- Lead bioinformatics design, delivery, and validation of end-to-end assay and application solutions
- Design and implement novel bioinformatics algorithms on the DRAGEN platform
- Build and manage external customer, partner, and key opinion leader relationships
- Monitor competitive technologies and develop strategic and tactical responses
