Role summary
Merck seeks a Regional Sales Manager to lead the Southern California companion animal sales team of up to 10 representatives. The role involves developing regional business plans, managing sales performance, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive product portfolio success across the greater Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

- Bachelor's degree preferred or high school diploma with 12+ years relevant experience
- Minimum 8 years professional sales, distribution, marketing, military, or veterinary/healthcare experience
- At least 2 years demonstrated leadership experience with measurable accomplishments
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight 50% of the time
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong presentation skills
- Reside within Southern California region or no more than 50 miles outside border
- Animal health industry experience and knowledge of biological/pharmaceutical products preferred
What you'll be doing
- Prepare and execute comprehensive regional business plan with consistent product implementation
- Lead, coach, and develop regional sales team of up to 10 Territory Representatives
- Drive regional sales performance and business unit results through team management
- Collaborate with Professional Services Veterinarians and distributor management for portfolio promotion
- Resolve conflicts and provide ongoing coaching with formal and informal performance feedback
