Johnson & Johnson seeks clinical engineering and human factors interns to support the development of robotic surgical systems and innovative medical devices. What they're looking for

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate (sophomore+), master's, or PhD student in biomedical, mechanical, electrical, robotics, systems engineering, or related field

  • Available full-time (40 hours/week) for June 1–August 21 or June 21–September 10, 2027
  • Interest or experience in healthcare technology, clinical systems, or biomedical engineering
  • Permanent US work authorization without sponsorship needs
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills

What you'll be doing

  • Research disease states, treatment options, surgical workflows, and competitive technologies to inform product development
  • Support user research, usability evaluations, and product assessments in simulated or clinical environments
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data from studies to identify insights and communicate findings
  • Assist with human factors, clinical, and risk management documentation including traceability and use-related risk assessments
  • Develop clinical workflows, task analyses, and test methods to evaluate product performance and user interaction
