Role summary
Avantor seeks a Buyer/Planner for its Phillipsburg, NJ facility to develop production schedules, manage material requirements planning, and coordinate purchasing activities across multiple departments. The role reports to the Site Planning Leader and requires balancing demand forecasting with inventory optimization in a regulated manufacturing environment.

- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field
- 3–5 years of production planning experience
- Proficiency with SAP for planning and material movement
- Comprehensive knowledge of MRP systems
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Chemical or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
- APICS/ASCM certification a plus
What you'll be doing
- Prepare master production schedules and detailed 4-week daily schedules on a weekly basis
- Coordinate material orders and communicate production plans across the organization
- Monitor and adjust schedules to respond to market and production requirements while optimizing costs
- Place purchase orders with vendors, reconcile invoices, and manage inventory levels
- Issue SAP process orders and report production metrics, asset uptime, and utilization regularly
