Role summary

Azenta seeks a Business Development Senior Manager for its Preclinical/Clinical Solutions division to drive US market expansion and client acquisition. The role combines strategic planning, consultative sales, and relationship management for genomics and laboratory services targeting biotech, pharma, and CRO organizations.

What they're looking for

Bachelor's degree minimum; PhD preferred in life sciences or related field
7–10+ years in life sciences, pharma services, CROs, or biotech environments
5+ years consultative sales or key account management with complex scientific solutions
Proven success managing long-cycle sales (6–18 months) and meeting $3M–$10M+ annual quotas
Experience drafting, negotiating, and closing MSAs and SOWs
Strong network of decision-makers in regional biotech hubs and pharma companies
Valid US driver's license; ability to travel approximately 50%

What you'll be doing

Lead end-to-end business development for US preclinical and clinical solutions portfolio from proposal to project delivery
Identify and pursue new market opportunities; build relationships with key decision-makers at biotech, pharma, and CRO firms
Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify emerging trends and potential clients in preclinical and clinical space
Collaborate cross-functionally with project management, marketing, and scientific teams to align client needs with service offerings
Represent company at industry conferences and networking events to enhance brand visibility and attract new clients
