Role summary
GE HealthCare seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 to diagnose and repair medical equipment at hospital customer sites in Louisiana. The role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, compliance documentation, and direct customer communication on a first-shift basis.
What they're looking for
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent military training; or 4+ years equipment service experience with high school diploma
- Minimum 2 years experience servicing medical equipment
- Knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and electro-mechanical devices
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
- Willingness to work after-hours, on-call rotations, and weekends
- Strong analytical and communication skills to explain technical issues to customers
- U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship available
What you'll be doing
- Evaluate biomedical equipment issues, implement repairs, and perform planned maintenance with safety inspections
- Follow company policies and hospital protocols to meet regulatory requirements and document all work
- Maintain customer relationships through communication and follow-up to ensure satisfaction
- Maintain tools and test equipment calibration to ensure timely and accurate service delivery
- Report quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization
