Role summary
Amgen seeks a Bioinformatics & AI Engineer in Hyderabad to develop and deploy deep learning systems for biomarker discovery and clinical development. - 7+ years hands-on experience building bioinformatics, machine learning, or research software; biomedical AI experience strongly preferred
- Strong Python programming with software engineering practices: Git, testing, CI/CD, documentation
- Deep expertise with deep learning, transformers, foundation models, and inference optimization
- Hands-on experience with biological foundation models, LLMs, and retrieval-augmented generation systems
- Proficiency with Hugging Face, AWS SageMaker, workflow engines like Nextflow or Snakemake, Docker/containers
- Strong knowledge of genomics, transcriptomics, single-cell omics, proteomics, or biomedical imaging data modalities
What you'll be doing
- Design, develop, and validate foundation-model applications for genomics, multi-omics, imaging, and clinical data analysis
- Build reproducible data pipelines with curation, harmonization, versioning, quality controls, and access governance
- Engineer agentic workflows combining foundation models with bioinformatics tools, structured knowledge, and human review
- Define benchmarking strategies assessing biological relevance, robustness, bias, uncertainty, and reproducibility of AI systems
- Develop production-ready cloud and GPU-based services optimizing performance, cost, reliability, and monitoring
