Role summary
Senior physician leader overseeing clinical safety assessment and risk management for investigational and marketed pharmaceutical products across therapeutic areas. Reports to VP of Clinical Safety and Risk Management, leading Safety Physicians and Medical Associates in safety surveillance, signal management, and benefit-risk evaluation throughout product lifecycles.
What they're looking for
- M.D. or equivalent medical degree
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience post-residency or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years in clinical safety, pharmacovigilance, or related field
- Minimum 9 years pharmaceutical industry or healthcare experience
- Demonstrated expertise in pharmacovigilance and benefit-risk assessment
- Strong knowledge of global pharmacovigilance regulations and practices
- Proven people leadership and team development experience
What you'll be doing
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of safety assessment and risk management across assigned therapeutic areas
- Direct Safety Physicians and Medical Associates on safety surveillance, signal detection, and risk mitigation activities
- Lead assessment of emerging safety signals and direct appropriate remedial actions
- Serve on governance and safety review committees providing medical and pharmacovigilance expertise
- Partner with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and other functions to inform benefit-risk decisions
