Role summary
Bio-Techne seeks an Automation Technician for their Minneapolis manufacturing facility to operate semi-automated equipment filling microtiter plates and vials with liquid products, and packaging items using automated machinery in a laboratory environment.
What they're looking for
- High school diploma with 1-2 years relevant manufacturing or laboratory experience
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and automated material handling equipment independently
- Knowledge of lab protocols, SOPs, chemical handling, safety and regulatory compliance standards
- Prior experience with laboratory equipment such as pipets, analytical balance, microscope, and incubator
- Ability to lift items weighing 5-50 lbs and multitask in fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Technical or associate degree in Mechatronics, Automation, or Biotech Manufacturing preferred
What you'll be doing
- Operate specialized production machines including Oyster Bay and Hamilton plate fillers to fill vials and microplates with liquid products
- Package standard vials into plastic pouches using custom automated equipment
- Set up, clean, and maintain semi-automated manufacturing equipment according to protocols
- Document batch data, maintain accurate records, and manage inventory of manufacturing components
- Adhere to lab safety protocols, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines while meeting quality and cycle time expectations
Compensation$18.40 - $25.30 per hour
