Role summary

Merck's Maurice R. Hilleman Center for Vaccine Manufacturing seeks an Associate Specialist to execute lab-scale vaccine process development, provide technical support for technology transfer, and conduct bioanalytical assays. The role supports multiple pipeline programs in a fast-paced cGMP environment at the Durham, NC facility.

Ability to work independently and adapt to fast-paced, occasionally off-shift schedules

What you'll be doing

Execute lab-scale experiments in vaccine manufacturing areas including buffer preparation, cell culture, and product isolation
Perform bioanalytical assays on in-process and post-process samples and analyze particulate matter to support manufacturing investigations
Assist in designing and executing studies for process characterization, technology transfer, and qualification of bulk vaccine processes
Author experimental proposals, technical reports, and compile process data using statistical analysis tools
Collaborate cross-functionally on manufacturing teams to advance vaccine process development and continuous improvement projects
