Role summary
Cytokinetics seeks an Associate Scientist to support formulation development for small-molecule cardiovascular therapeutics. The role involves designing and executing prototype formulations for oral dosage forms, conducting characterization studies, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to advance drug products from development through scale-up.
What they're looking for
- BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related discipline with 6+ years industry experience
- MS degree with 4+ years relevant pharmaceutical formulation experience
- Hands-on experience with oral solid dose manufacturing equipment and processes
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical characterization techniques and analytical methods
- Strong laboratory data analysis, documentation, and scientific communication skills
- Experience with CROs or CDMOs preferred
- Problem-solving ability and collaborative mindset in cross-functional settings
What you'll be doing
- Design, prepare, and evaluate prototype formulations for tablets, capsules, suspensions, and enabling formulations
- Execute formulation screening, optimization, and process development experiments with comprehensive documentation
- Conduct physical, chemical, and biopharmaceutical characterization studies to assess formulation performance
- Support drug product manufacturing process development and scale-up activities
- Prepare technical reports, protocols, and development summaries communicating experimental results and recommendations
