AstraZeneca seeks an Associate Director Lean for a 12-month secondment in Macclesfield to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across manufacturing teams. The role involves partnering with process execution teams to embed Lean practices, build capability, and deliver measurable business outcomes through coaching and strategic project leadership.

Working knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain processes, GMP, and regulatory standards
Expertise in Lean tools: Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Standard Work, Kaizen
Demonstrated capability coaching and mentoring leaders to embed continuous improvement
Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional influence skills
Analytical ability to interpret and improve manufacturing KPIs including OEE and reliability

What you'll be doing

Develop and execute manufacturing excellence plans aligned with process team scorecards and business priorities
Drive performance improvements using Lean principles, AstraZeneca Supply System, and continuous improvement methodologies
Build team capability in Manufacturing Excellence, standard practices, problem-solving, and continuous improvement behaviours
Lead improvement project portfolios, delivering agreed outcomes and sustainable benefits across teams
Coach Lean Facilitators and lead local Manufacturing Excellence and Six Sigma networks
