Role summary

This role leads commercial data science strategy and execution across Amgen's business units, developing AI and advanced analytics capabilities to drive commercial performance. The Associate Director oversees teams of data scientists and cross-functional partners to identify high-value opportunities and deliver scalable AI/ML products. The position reports to the Senior Director of Commercial Data Science and requires on-site presence in Thousand Oaks, California a minimum of two days weekly.

Doctorate in quantitative field plus 3 years experience, or Master's plus 7 years, or Bachelor's plus 9 years
Minimum 3 years managing people or leading teams and projects
Experience with AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics development
Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to executive audiences
Expertise in predictive modeling, causal inference, and optimization techniques
Experience building scalable data products and enterprise analytics capabilities

What you'll be doing

Execute Commercial AI and Advanced Analytics roadmap aligned with organizational priorities
Lead portfolio of AI, ML, and analytics initiatives from strategy through deployment
Partner with commercial leadership to identify high-value AI and analytics opportunities
Build trusted partnerships across Brand, Marketing, Sales, Medical, and Digital functions
Lead and develop high-performing team of data scientists with coaching and mentorship
