Role summary
Senior individual contributor role designing and operating enterprise-scale data engineering and ML systems on Databricks. Responsible for end-to-end data products, lakehouse pipelines, MLOps infrastructure, and observability across analytics and AI/ML platforms serving Bristol Myers Squibb's R&D operations.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- 5+ years hands-on data engineering and/or MLOps experience, preferably in biopharma or life sciences
- Deep expertise with Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Expert Python and SQL programming with PySpark and data modeling experience
- Proven experience building and owning enterprise-scale production data and ML pipelines end-to-end
- Familiarity with healthcare data, GxP, HIPAA, and pharmaceutical data governance
What you'll be doing
- Design and operate end-to-end data products including ingestion, transformation, serving, and CI/CD on Databricks
- Build production-grade lakehouse pipelines using Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows, and Structured Streaming
- Design and operate ML pipelines covering feature engineering, training, deployment, serving, and monitoring at scale
- Architect observability across data and ML systems using monitoring tools and establish data quality standards
- Partner with data science, MLOps, and US teams on execution; conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers
