Role summary

Agilent seeks a Senior Applied AI Engineer to design and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems addressing scientific and operational challenges. Working within a cross-functional pod, you will build reusable skills, implement RAG and orchestration patterns, embed evaluation and observability throughout delivery, and ensure compliance with security and governance standards. This role emphasizes practical solutions that drive measurable business value beyond prototyping.

Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Typically 8+ years of relevant experience

What you'll be doing

Design and build AI agent architectures, RAG applications, and orchestration patterns aligned with platform standards
Create reusable AI skills and integrations using shared platform services with appropriate governance and access controls
Embed evaluation, testing, and observability into delivery lifecycle with benchmark sets and regression testing
Implement AI solutions meeting security, compliance, and governance requirements including human-in-the-loop approval processes
Partner with domain experts and business stakeholders to understand workflows and translate requirements into production solutions
