Role summary
Merck is seeking a Systems Biology intern for a 10-12 week summer placement within the Nonclinical Drug Safety division. The role involves generating and analyzing spatial genomics datasets to understand drug-induced toxicities, with responsibilities in sample preparation, experimental execution, and data analysis.

- Currently enrolled in BS/BA in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, or related field
- Available for 10-12 week internship beginning June 2026
- GPA 3.0 or higher preferred
- Laboratory experience with tissue sectioning, RNA isolation, or molecular biology techniques
- Experience analyzing transcriptomics data using RStudio and/or Python
- Bash scripting and terminal familiarity preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills
