Role summary

This is a 6-month co-operative education assignment in pharmaceutical packaging engineering at Merck's Wilson, North Carolina manufacturing facility. The co-op associate will gain hands-on experience in packaging development, equipment qualification, supplier management, and engineering support across multiple product types.

  • Effective communication and organizational abilities

What you'll be doing

  • Participate in primary and secondary packaging development and testing for solid oral, sterile, and combination products
  • Support packaging equipment development, qualification, and process control activities
  • Initiate and manage supplier incident cases for component issues identified in operations
  • Conduct component investigations and travel to supplier sites as needed
  • Assist with engineering studies, machine trials, and specification development across packaging teams
