Role summary
Merck's Discovery Oncology team in Boston seeks a motivated student intern for a 12-week position in cancer drug discovery. Interns will design and execute cell-based and biochemical assays to characterize therapeutic targets, working alongside scientific mentors and cross-functional teams.

- Experience with basic mammalian cell culture techniques
- Experience with standard laboratory procedures: pipetting, solution preparation, plate-based assays
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate data analysis
- Strong interest in oncology drug discovery
What you'll be doing
- Design, execute, interpret, and report in vitro experiments with scientific mentor guidance
- Develop, execute, and troubleshoot new cell-based assays
- Communicate research data clearly to teams and stakeholders
- Review and critically interpret published literature to inform research direction
- Collaborate with medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and genetics teams
