Role summary
Merck's Future Talent Program offers a 4-6 month co-op in bioprocess clinical manufacturing at the West Point Biologics Pilot Plant. Participants will work on automation, process operations, or capital projects within the BCMT department, supporting GMP manufacturing and process development.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled in BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with self-motivation and adaptability
- Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills
- Available full-time for 4-6 months between June-November or March-August 2027
- Programming experience (Python and/or PLC/DeltaV) for automation track, or lab/manufacturing experience for operations/capital tracks
What you'll be doing
- Develop code for process control, monitoring, and automation tools depending on assigned track
- Support GMP manufacturing operations, equipment testing, and qualification activities
- Generate documentation, manage knowledge systems, or execute equipment commissioning as applicable
- Communicate project results in written and verbal formats to cross-functional teams
- Comply with quality systems, training requirements, and safety protocols
