Role summary
Johnson & Johnson's Wound Closure & Healing R&D organization seeks interns and co-ops for spring and summer 2027 positions in Raritan, New Jersey. Candidates will conduct laboratory work, develop prototypes, and support surgical medical device projects across chemistry, engineering, and biology disciplines.
What they're looking for
- Enrolled in accredited college/university pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or related field
- Completed sophomore year or above; minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong written and oral communication
- Hands-on laboratory experience in chemistry, microbiology, or engineering strongly preferred
- Legally authorized to work in U.S.; no visa sponsorship required now or in future
- Able to work full-time (40 hours/week) during program period and provide own transportation
What you'll be doing
- Conduct hands-on laboratory work in chemistry or engineering environments under supervision
- Write test protocols, generate reports, and document meeting minutes following good documentation practices
- Design, craft, and evaluate prototypes for wound closure and surgical device applications
- Perform experimental studies, chemical synthesis, and analytical testing methods
- Collaborate with engineers and external suppliers on project-related activities
Compensation$23.50/hr to $52.50/hr based on program year, discipline, degree, and experience
