Role summary
AbCellera seeks a VP of Medical Affairs to build and lead the medical affairs function from the ground up. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role encompasses strategy development, team building, clinical communications, key opinion leader engagement, and publication oversight across a growing pipeline.

- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD; MD preferred)
- 15+ years biotech/pharma experience in medical affairs or related functions
- 5+ years of people leadership experience building high-performing teams
- Experience with prelaunch and postlaunch activities
- Deep knowledge of regulatory guidelines and compliance for scientific exchange
- Proven talent for recruiting, developing, and managing cross-functional partnerships
- Willingness to travel 25-40% for conferences and company representation
What you'll be doing
- Develop and implement medical affairs strategies supporting prelaunch and postlaunch portfolio needs
- Build and scale the medical affairs team including field-based Medical Science Liaisons
- Oversee clinical publications strategy and presentation at major congresses and journals
- Establish medical communication and disease state awareness initiatives with patient advocacy groups
- Manage departmental budgets and provide input on reimbursement and market-access strategies
CompensationCAD $300,000 - $350,000 annual
