Role summary
Amgen seeks an undergraduate intern to assist in designing, developing, and testing machine learning data pipelines and models supporting pharmaceutical research. The remote summer 2027 position offers hands-on experience in data engineering, statistical analysis, and MLOps within a biotech environment.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled full-time in Bachelor's degree program with 3.0+ GPA
- Completion of at least one year of study prior to internship start
- 18 years or older; U.S. resident for internship duration
- Foundational Python or R experience with data libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
- Basic SQL knowledge and ability to query databases
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills
- Preferred: degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering; cloud platform exposure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
What you'll be doing
- Assist in designing and developing scalable data pipelines for multi-source data ingestion and transformation
- Support data cleaning, preparation, and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets
- Help develop and automate model training, evaluation, and deployment workflows
- Analyze pharmaceutical datasets and create visualizations and dashboards for stakeholders
- Contribute technical documentation and participate in MLOps implementation and monitoring
Compensation$28.87 per hour
