Role summary
Insmed seeks a summer intern to support gene editing research in the discovery pipeline. This full-time, 12-week paid internship involves hands-on molecular biology work, experimental design, and collaboration with cross-functional research teams in New Jersey.
What they're looking for
- Current student pursuing BS, MS, or PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioengineering, or related field
- Hands-on coursework or lab experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and cloning
- Cell culture experience
- Familiarity with CRISPR/Cas9 or other gene editing platforms preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret experimental data
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for scientific reporting
- Ability to collaborate in fast-paced, multidisciplinary research environment
What you'll be doing
- Participate in gene editing experiments including CRISPR-based knockouts and knock-ins under mentor supervision
- Perform molecular biology workflows and assays to validate editing outcomes such as cloning, Western blot, PCR, and flow cytometry
- Maintain detailed and accurate lab notebooks and experimental records
- Analyze experimental results and contribute to data presentations and team meetings
- Present summary of internship findings at program conclusion
Compensation$20.00-$35.00 hourly
