Role summary

Intuitive Surgical seeks a Staff Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to manage supplier relationships and performance for metal injection molding, plastic injection molding, and machining processes. Minimum 10 years experience in MIM, PIM, or machining manufacturing engineering
Hands-on plastic injection molding expertise, including Scientific Injection Molding principles
Strong knowledge of 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 regulatory standards
Proven experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC programs at suppliers
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline
Expertise in supplier evaluation, selection, and technical capability assessment
Proficiency with project management, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and statistical analysis tools

What you'll be doing

Complete supplier qualification deliverables including pFMEA, process validation, and capability analysis
Execute cost reduction, capacity improvement, and supply chain risk mitigation projects with suppliers
Select appropriate manufacturing processes and suppliers based on long-term fit and total cost
Manage supplier changes including process modifications, equipment qualification, and line validations
Drive corrective and preventive actions through root cause analysis and CAPA documentation for supplier variances
