Role summary
Pacific Biosciences seeks a Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership for hybrid infrastructure platforms supporting enterprise, research, and scientific computing workloads. - 10+ years progressive enterprise infrastructure engineering with technical leadership in complex production environments
- Deep experience engineering and supporting enterprise Linux environments
- Extensive hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure experience
- Strong experience with enterprise storage, virtualization, networking, and HPC platforms
- Proficiency implementing Infrastructure as Code, automation, and configuration management
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, and observability platforms
What you'll be doing
- Provide technical leadership for enterprise infrastructure platforms and define architecture standards
- Own operational lifecycle of infrastructure including deployment, maintenance, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
- Lead Infrastructure as Code initiatives and automate manual operational processes
- Design infrastructure following security principles and partner with Information Security on compliance
- Mentor engineers and foster culture of documentation, automation, and continuous improvement
