Role summary
Waters Corporation seeks a senior embedded firmware and FPGA engineer to architect and develop firmware and programmable logic for ARM-based instrumentation platforms. The role involves designing RTL, developing Linux BSP components, and optimizing system performance across FPGA, SoC, and host compute boundaries. - Experience with C/C++, Python, version control systems, and modern development tools
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe Gen 3/4/5, JESD204B/C, DDR3/DDR4
- Demonstrated test bench development and simulation experience with ModelSim or VCS
What you'll be doing
- Provide technical direction and architectural guidance for firmware and FPGA development across product lines
- Own end-to-end system architecture including FPGA logic, ARM SoC firmware, and off-board compute partitioning
- Develop Linux BSP components, kernel configuration, boot loaders, HALs, and device drivers
- Build embedded services in C/C++ and Python-based automation for testing and validation workflows
- Collaborate with distributed global teams to deliver instrumentation system solutions
