Role summary
Baxter seeks a Senior R&D Manager to lead Electrical, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineering teams in developing compliant medical devices. The role combines technical expertise in embedded systems with cross-functional leadership, reporting to the Senior Director of R&D at the Bellevue site.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline
- 10+ years product development experience with electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical hardware systems
- 2+ years engineering leadership managing multidisciplinary hardware development teams
- Proven experience with new product development from concept through commercialization
- Experience with medical device hardware in regulated environments
- Knowledge of design controls, requirements management, risk management, and verification/validation
- Familiarity with FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 standards
What you'll be doing
- Lead, mentor, and develop Electrical, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineering teams with focus on high-performance culture
- Oversee engineering execution for new product development and sustaining projects aligned with strategic priorities
- Ensure design best practices and compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate across Software, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Systems, and Marketing teams to deliver products successfully
- Drive design for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability in partnership with operations
