Role summary
Danaher seeks a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to ensure availability and performance of cloud-native platforms and data/AI services. This senior individual contributor role, based in Krakow, involves setting reliability standards across teams, designing observability systems, and mentoring engineers.
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of hands-on SRE, DevOps, or equivalent production operations experience
- Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience
- Deep expertise in SRE principles including SLOs, error budgets, and blameless incident culture
- Hands-on experience with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, OpenTelemetry, Splunk)
- Proficiency with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, and Python or Go
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-team architecture decisions and mentor engineers in distributed systems
What you'll be doing
- Establish and monitor Service Level Objectives and error budgets to drive reliability and cost-efficiency decisions
- Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing for cloud-native applications
- Identify and automate repetitive operational work to reduce toil across the production environment
- Lead incident response, postmortems, and implement preventative measures based on root cause analysis
- Partner with development teams to influence service design for operability and reliability from inception
