Role summary

Amgen seeks a Senior UI Developer to lead user-centered design and frontend implementation for AI-powered products within the AI & Data Science organization. The role combines discovery, UX translation, and modern React/TypeScript development to deliver secure, accessible interfaces that integrate complex AI capabilities.

What they're looking for

Doctorate in Computer Science/IT with 1+ years experience, or Master's with 8-10 years, or Bachelor's with 10-12 years, or Diploma with 12-14 years
Expertise in UX design, user research, interaction design, wireframes, prototypes, and accessible frontend architecture
Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and React, Next.js or comparable component-based frameworks
Experience integrating production ML, foundation models, RAG, agents and AI services into user interfaces
Knowledge of API contracts, services, authentication, authorization, and enterprise integration patterns
Demonstrated testing expertise, CI/CD practices, security controls, and regulated delivery/GxP evidence
Strong understanding of accessibility, OWASP, data privacy, and responsible AI principles

What you'll be doing

Lead user discovery and define needs, workflows, acceptance criteria, accessibility requirements and measurable outcomes with product partners
Translate UX research and user journeys into interaction patterns, prototypes and implementable UI requirements
Develop responsive, accessible production interfaces using React/TypeScript with secure sessions, performance optimization and API integration
Design human-AI experiences that integrate LLMs, RAG, agents and BI tools with clear controls, feedback and traceable outcomes
Establish testing strategies, CI/CD governance, observability and support ownership; mentor engineers and improve frontend practices
