Role summary
Merck seeks a Senior Specialist in Vaccines Technology to provide technical support for formulation, filling, inspection, and packaging operations at a vaccine manufacturing facility in Wilson, North Carolina. The role focuses on facility startup, process validation, regulatory compliance, and ongoing operational excellence as a member of the Integrated Process Team.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field
- Minimum 4 years direct pharmaceutical packaging experience
- Minimum 2 years hands-on cGMP biopharmaceutical/vaccine manufacturing and equipment validation
- Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices and vaccine/pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting FDA regulatory inspections
- Technical writing proficiency for investigations, protocols, and batch records
- Ability to work irregular hours supporting multi-shift operations
What you'll be doing
- Develop and maintain robust vaccine filling and packaging processes with defined critical parameters
- Serve as technical subject matter expert during regulatory inspections and licensure interactions
- Resolve technical issues impacting supply through daily IPT management processes
- Investigate root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions for compliance discrepancies
- Manage process development, validation documentation, and change management activities
