Role summary
Eurofins seeks a Senior Materials Scientist to develop solid-form strategies for complex pharmaceutical molecules, including PROTACs and molecular glues. The role involves advanced characterization, crystallization techniques, and cross-functional collaboration in Groton, Connecticut.
What they're looking for
- Master's degree with 2+ years experience or PhD in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, or chemical engineering
- Expertise in solid-state characterization techniques (XRPD, polarized light microscopy, DSC, TGA, spectroscopy)
- Experience with infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) and/or solid-state NMR
- Demonstrated experience solving materials science problems for large molecules
- Knowledge of amorphous solid dispersion strategies and innovative solid form screening
- Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry fundamentals
- Strong organizational skills, independence, and written and oral communication abilities
What you'll be doing
- Conduct advanced solid-state characterization of beyond Rule-of-5 pharmaceutical molecules
- Apply novel crystallization techniques to recrystallize complex molecules
- Support multidisciplinary teams in defining and executing polymorph, salt, and co-crystal screening
- Collaborate with medicinal chemistry and formulation teams on solid form selection strategies
- Develop novel scientific approaches and contribute to materials science organization knowledge
