10+ years experience with complex instruments integrating mechanical, electrical, optical, and software components
Proficiency in automation and control software such as Python, LabVIEW, or PLC
Experience with verification and validation testing, requirements definition, and test plan execution
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
Experience with statistical data analysis and Product Lifecycle Management systems
CAD experience (Solidworks) and hardware automation knowledge preferred

What you'll be doing

Lead system-level engineering activities for new and existing analytical instruments from prototype through pilot phases
Develop system requirements, oversee hardware integration, and direct verification and validation testing
Troubleshoot complex failures at system and component levels to identify root causes
Automate and control hardware subsystems for prototype testing using scripting languages
Mentor junior engineers on design methodology, development practices, and systems-level thinking
