Role summary
Abbott seeks a Senior Planner Buyer for its Point of Care diagnostics division in Princeton, New Jersey. This role manages planning and procurement of raw materials and finished goods for the i-STAT Blood Analyzer, overseeing supplier relationships, inventory optimization, and cross-functional supply chain strategy.

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years professional experience in regulated manufacturing environment
- Experience managing international supply chain portfolios exceeding $20 million annually
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and MRP systems (QAD, SAP)
- Knowledge of MRP, purchasing, production principles, lot control, ISO, GMP, JIT, ERP
- Strong analytical skills, independent judgment, and ability to drive continuous improvement
- APICS or related planning/procurement certification preferred
What you'll be doing
- Plan and schedule raw material and finished goods deliveries to optimize inventory while managing costs
- Prepare purchase orders per MRP requirements and monitor delivery schedules with supplier negotiation
- Build and manage supplier relationships through performance metrics, scorecards, and quarterly reviews
- Lead cross-functional integrated business planning across 3 to 36-month horizons for assigned portfolio
- Manage new product introductions and phase-out obsolescence to minimize inventory write-offs
